Quincy Historical Society is a private, not-for-profit organization. We depend on the voluntary support of our members and visitors. We ask those visiting our museum to make a donation.  Your support helps us to remain open and continue our work.

Directions:

Quincy, Massachusetts is located on the coast, immediately south of Boston.

Quincy Historical Society occupies the landmark Adams Academy Building, located at 8 Adams Street at the north end of Quincy Center, at the junction of Adams, Hancock, and Dimmock Streets. There is ample parking in the rear of the building.

From Boston: Take Rte I 93 South (the Southeast Expressway) to Exit 12. Take Exit 12 and follow signs for Quincy.  Crossing the Neponset Bridge stay in the right lanes.  At first light after the bridge, veer right onto Newport Avenue.  Continue on Newport Avenue (becoming Burgin Parkway) approximately 3 miles to Dimmock Street. Turn left on Dimmock. Historical Society will be visible on your left.

From West: Take  Rte I 95 South to Rte I 93 North (this is also Mass Rte 128).   Follow signs for Exit 18 Quincy Center.  Take exit and follow signs for Quincy.  Proceed approximately 3 miles to Dimmock Street, turn right onto Dimmock. Historical Society will be visible on your left.

From Providence: Take Rte I 95 North to I 93 North (which is also Mass. Rte.128). Follow signs for Exit 18 Quincy Center. Take exit and follow signs for Quincy.  Proceed approximately 3 miles to Dimmock Street, turn right onto Dimmock. Historical Society will be visible on your left.

From Plymouth, Cape Cod: Take Rte 3 North to Exit 19, “Quincy Center”. Take exit and follow signs for Quincy.  Proceed approximately 3 miles to Dimmock Street, turn right onto Dimmock. Historical Society will be visible on your left.

From New Bedford/Fall River: Take Rte 24 North to Rte I93 North (which is also Mass Rte 128). Follow Signs for Exit 18 Quincy Center. Take exit and follow signs for Quincy. Proceed approximately 3 miles to Dimmock Street, turn right on Dimmock. Historical Society will be visilbe on your left.

By Public Transportation: Quincy Historical Society is located one block north of the Quincy Center MBTA mass-transit Red Line and Commuter Rail station.
